Amy woke up alone in a queen sized bed that they used to share. Everyday was getting harder and harder to put a smile on her face and trudge on with all the menial tasks that this pandemic has thrust upon her. Sometimes she wishes he had never left her to clean up the mess they had made. The empty wine glass sitting precariously on the night stand beckons to be filled once more.

I dropped everything I was holding in my hands coming from the car on the driveway in shock. Standing at the boulevard close to the street was a male white-tailed deer so still he seems fake. All of a sudden the deer took off with a graceful leap towards the woods as I watched on in awe. The white-tailed deer is the smallest deer species in North America but up close with a full set of antlers that deer seems gigantic up close.
